| My goodness...how I wish that I was at drum corps this summer. Europe would be amazing...I FEEL OLD. Gross.
OOooooooh, get this. I went to my classroom in Pittsboro the other day. And...yup, my NAME WAS ON MY DOOR. That was sweet...so official. Now, my REAL work begins...planning before school starts...DUN DUN DUUUUUUUUUUUUUN.
I went to see my kindergarten kids from last year play some little league the other night. SWEET. The teams had like 20 kids on them so they let them ALL out on the field to play...didn't matter what position. They just placed them around the field. Of course, whenever a ball was hit basically the whole team rushed after it! And also when they had been batting and were coming in at home, EVERY SINGLE KID HAD TO SLIDE IN AT HOME. One time there were 4 kids rounding 3rd all at once then their was a HUGE pile of children on home plate b/c they ALL had to slide. That was probably the cutest thing I have seen all summer...besides my neice Aubrey, of course! | | |
| Okay so since my last post, things have chaaaaaaaaaaanged drastically.
1. SCHOOL IS OUT...YIPPEE! :)
2. But more like #1...I HAVE A JOB! Hooray. I will be teaching first grade at Pittsboro Elementary school. It's about 5 miles from Brownsburg. Nice. I am very excited. The interview was amazing and it was with like 10 people...and a dog. Ha! The first grade has a dog that is a therapy dog for kids. They may be shy in class, but they read to the dog or talk to the dog and apparently it works wonders with kids who have social problems. Hopefully it will help with the selective mute girl that is placed in my class.
Well, anyway, as soon as I left the interview, they all started laughing. I was confused when it happened but after the principal called (ONLY 1.5 HOURS AFTER I LEFT) to offer me the job she said they were laughing b/c the teachers had passed around a paper that said "DIBS" on the top of it and they all signed their names. Hehe...they are funny and they want me and I want them.
NO MORE LOOKING FOR A JOB!!!!!!!!!!! yay! :)
Gotta jet....PHONE! | | |
